“The cat was named ‘Umut,’ meaning ‘hope’ in Turkish.” Hope definitely defines their future, but we think their middle name should be ‘Lucky’, as the chances of this cat surviving were slim to none. Thanks to the help of ‘Bob’, the rescue dog, Umut will get a second chance at life and hopefully never have to go through something like this ever again.

“The search and rescue team looked for survivors near a two-story building that had collapsed. There, the poor cat was stuck beneath the rubble caused by two collapsed floors, so it was crucial for Bob to sniff the cat out in a timely manner. Bob located the feline 30 hours after the earthquake came through Turkey. With the help of his team, he was able to pull the cat out of the rubble.”
We know that this is a site dedicated to cats, but good job, Bob. You done good. You can be inducted into the honorary cat hall of fame on our recommendation!

“Wrapped in a blanket following the rescue, the cat was adopted by a neighbor living opposite the collapsed building", wrote one of the reporters who originally covered this story. This kitty may have endured something truly terrifying, but at the very least, we know that she will be loved and cared for for the rest of her days. If anyone deserves a happy ending, it's this cat.
